My next project: A game

Posted by Faladis Apr. 3, 2009 @ 1:49 AM EDT

Project Name: XenoNet
Type: Game
Fun?: Hopefully!
What is XenoNet? Well here you go...

XenoNet, or XN as it will be referred to, is a simulation game in which you play Cyphon, a computer hacker who has stumbled upon some interesting files within a public domain server. Later that night, the sound of vans and helicopters overhead scream through Cyphon's home. He quickly gets up, arms himself with a shotgun, and the introduction pursues.

After a lengthy gunfight, Cyphon is knocked unconscious, but not by his assailants, but by a group of hackers known only as Netstat. After learning of the files that Cyphon stumbled across, Netstat gives him sanctuary in the underground. He is basically given a whole new identity, and with that, the game begins.

Cyphon controls the Spike Squad, a multi-tasking squad meant for general purpose tasks within the internet dependent world. The characters within the squad are as interesting as they are unique.

-Crackz: As his name states, he is a brute forcer, a telnet wizard... you name it, he can get into it.

-Tracer: A mastermind of security, as he becomes more knowledgeable about systems, the better he can get teammates in without detection.

-Op: Op is your standard social engineer. Name someone, and he'll have any info you need in a matter of minutes depending on his gear.

-Sybia: Like Cyphon, she is a general purpose hacker, with a very unique specialization. Virus Programming.

**Missions**
Missions take three things: Operatives, gear, and time. If an operative doesn't meet the requirements they can't attempt the mission. As the operative's stats go up, their chance of getting caught goes down.

**Mission Types**

-Standard: These can be anywhere from your "Delete their myspace" to "crash a general user's system"
-Advanced: These are missions that require specific gear, and will detail such
-Story: These missions advance the main story line, helping give a direction to the player.

**Consequences**

Crypter, a rogue hacker, will always be on your ass, so make sure your system is up to date, otherwise he may cripple it, or worse, use your IP as a scapegoat.

operatives may be caught in certain missions, mainly advanced and storyline missions. If this occurs, the player has a window of three days (game time) to rescue the operative, otherwise they are imprisoned and it is impossible to rescue them.(game over man, game over!)

current expected date of release?: ... o.o ... ???

NEEDED! HALP!!!
